INDIAN INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT

The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM Ahmedabad or IIM-A) is a public business school located in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. It was the second Indian Institute of Management (IIM) to be established, after IIM Calcutta. It is consistently ranked as one of the best business schools in India and in the Asia-Pacific region.

The Research and Publications Committee of IIMA is responsible for the formulation of the overall policies governing the Institute's research and publication activities. The Committee undertakes the processing of research and publication proposals submitted by faculty members or referred to the Committee by the Institute and recommends financial and other forms of assistance for projects.

સિદૂી સૈયદ ની જાળી



The most decent creativity of the Ahmedavadis.
 The Sidi Saiyyed Mosque(સિદૂી સૈયદ ની જાળી), built in 1573(૧૫૭૩), is one of the most famous mosques of Ahmedabad. As attested by the marble stone tablet fixed on the wall of the mosque, it was built by Sidi Saeed or Sidi Saiyyed, an Abyssinian in the retinue of Bilal Jhajar Khan, general in the army of the last Sultan Shams-ud-Din Muzaffar Shah III of the Gujarat Sultanate.

The mosque was built in the last year of the existence of Sultanate of Gujarat. The mosque is entirely arcuated and is famous for beautifully carved ten stone latticework windows (jalis) on the side and rear arches. The rear wall is filled with square stone pierced panels in geometrical designs. The two bays flanking the central aisle have reticulated stone slabs carved in designs of intertwined trees and foliage and a palm motif.sidi saiyed jaali is known identity of Ahemdabad. This intricately carved stone window is the Siddi Sayyed Jali, the unofficial symbol of city of Ahmedabad and the inspiration for the design of the logo of the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad.

General Introduction to city Ahmedabad
Ahmedabad is the largest city and former capital of the Indian state of Gujarat.
The city is the administrative headquarters of Ahmedabad district and is the judicial capital of Gujarat as the Gujarat High Court is located here. With a population of more than 5.8 million and an extended population of 6.3 million, it is the fifth largest city and seventh largest metropolitan area of India. It is also ranked third in Forbes' list of fastest growing cities of the decade. Ahmedabad is located on the banks of the River Sabarmati, 32 km (20 mi) from the state capital Gandhinagar.
Though incorporated into the Bombay Presidency during British rule, Ahmedabad remained one of the most important cities in the Gujarat region. The city established itself as the home of a developing textile industry, which earned it the nickname Manchester of the East. The city was at the forefront of the Indian independence movement in the first half of the 20th century and the centre of many campaigns of civil disobedience to promote farmers' and workers' rights, and civil rights apart from political independence.
The city has large populations of HindusMuslims and Jains, and these cultures are preeminent in the city, with their religious festivals and cuisine dominating the city's culture. Cricket is a popular sport in Ahmedabad, and the Sardar Patel Stadium is situated within the city. In 2012,The Times of India chose Ahmedabad as the best city to live in India.
